952 RPM is the second fastest in the SMG class, and the 40-round magazine keeps you from running dry in a 1v2. The real payoff is VEL 46 Snap at max level — a bullpup conversion that cuts swap time to the floor, built for repositioning and chasing.

Q1 VEL 46 or X-58 Nyx — which is stronger? +
Face to face, the VEL 46 is faster (952 vs 800 RPM). But the X-58 Nyx fires subsonic with weakened enemy hit indicators, which is a bigger edge in end-of-round situations. For ranked climb, take the X-58; for levelling and small maps, the VEL 46.
Q2 Does the VEL 46 need an optic? +
No. At SMG ranges iron sights give you the widest view, and any optic only lengthens the ADS animation, which slows your first shot.
Q3 Why does the VEL 46 struggle at range? +
It deals 28 damage inside 10m and drops to 19 between 10 and 22m, which is a six-shot kill. Even at 952 RPM the theoretical TTK looks acceptable, but bullet spread drags your real hit rate down noticeably.
Top tier on close-quarters maps, and after the max-level Apex nothing beats it out of a swap.
